KINGS STARS SHINE AT DISNEY'S ALL-STAR GAME
The Kings were represented well at the 2nd Annual All-Star game held at Disney Ice On St. Patricks Day.

March 17, 2001- Captain Paul Costello and leading scorer Jason Linn left their mark at the All-Star Game held at Disney Ice Arena. Although neither one left with the MVP, the Kings represenatives dominated the 2nd Annual event.


Costello and Linn at the All-Star GameOn Saturday, March 17, the Disney Ice Arena held it's second annual all-star game for the Novice C division. Also for the second time, Kings captain Paul Costello would be one of the players representing the Kings team. Lat season, Costello left the game with the number 1 star, just a vote shy of the MVP of the game. Kings newcomer Jason Linn also representing the Kings, as Linn tops the team in goals and points.

Jason Linn outskating the fieldThe highlight for the Kings players happnened in the first intermission, when league held its skills compitition. The first up was Jason Linn, for the speed skating competition. After skating on new blades for the first time, Linn blew away the field, as he skated around the NHL rink in 14.6 seconds, to win the speed skill competition. This is not the first time that Linn has won speed skating event in hockey. In a California Association Hockey event in Oakland when playing for the South Coast Sabres, Linn took fastest skater in the state of Calfornia. Speed has defenitly been on his side.

Paul Costello on the breakaway contestNext up for the Kings All-Star's in the skills competition, Costello in breakaway goals. Each contestant was to get 5 pucks to shoot on the goalie and score in the quickest time. There was a 3 way tie, as 3 players, including Costello, scored 2 goals. But it was Costello that had the fastest time, to win the breakaway event. 2 King players taking over the skills competition section of the All-Star game.

Paul Costello scoring the goalFor the game itself, Linn and Costello continued their domination over the field. Paul Costello netted 2 goals, while Linn also impacting the game, assisting on 2. The West All Stars, whom the Kings players represented, ended up winning the game 6-4. Paul Costello and Jason Linn runners up to the MVP, but not outshined in the 2nd Annual All-Star game.
